INFINITE BEYOND

To capture the elements of the Infinite Beyond positioning, we would utilize many techniques and unique approaches to creating memorable and stunning imagery.

We really connect to the tranquility of nature and the beauty of the untouched land at Amangiri. We would film the property with a focus on the unique and unexpected. Every frame would be shot with simple compositions and an eye for the details.

With the use of hand held cameras we’ll create a "first person" perspective making the viewer feel as though they’re actually exploring the property. Also, by mixing the subtle sounds of footsteps, wind, a bird screech we’ll help evoke the feeling of this personal journey.

The cinematic shots of the sky, sands, rocks and stars, combined with the conversations with the stakeholders we’ll create a strong emotional tone to this video.

THE INTERVIEWS

Shooting each stakeholder in a different location on site will help separate each individual with a unique background.
This will also help tell the story of each interviewee’s area of expertise.

Homi Vazifdar will be interviewed on a select residential lot with set dressing that includes a comfortable chair and perhaps a rug on the platform with minimal propping. We’ll take advantage of the spectacular views that the residences will provide.

Possible discussions points include: The origin story of Aman and Amangiri • The insistence upon perfection • The unique nature of the property and the offering

Julien Surget will be interviewed poolside at the resort with set dressing that includes outdoor furniture with minimal propping. We’ll take advantage of the striking feature of the rock formation flowing into the pool.

Possible discussions points include: The transfer of the resort experience to the residential experience • The luxury of exclusivity • Curated adventures and the sense of discovery • The philosophy behind the service experience

Marwan Al-Sayed’s possible location could be at the resort, perhaps in a shaded outside space that incorporates some elements of the architecture.

Possible discussions points include: The architectural and design relationship between the Resort and Residences • Designing with light and shadow • Conforming the Residences to the landscape • The color palette and the natural materials of the landscape • The views and naming

Don Vita, will be interviewed at Camp Sarika,
featuring his unique landscape design. Incorporating the outdoor seating and perhaps including an edge of the canopy to showcase the harmony with nature.

Possible discussions points include: The inspirations provided by the landscape on the landscaping • Selecting lots and the siting of the Residences within their lots – The challenges of landscaping a desert environment • The effect of the landscape on the psyche

THE APPROACH

Shooting with 2 cameras will be the key to providing the best footage of the interviews.

Camera “A” will be a locked off portrait that will be the hero shot for the editor to return to for consistency.

Camera “B” will float with a slight movement and provide an optional portrait of the subject. In addition this camera may have a blurred foreground element, like a rock to create some depth. Also, this camera will come in tight for small details like expressive hands and other subtle gestures.

We’ll have each person walk into their scene and take a seat. We’ll have the lighting and sound perfect so as they get comfortable, we’ll already be rolling. This allows for a more relaxed interview. We ease into each interview by directing it simply as a “rehearsal”.

We’re glad you’ll provide a host to ask the questions, it’s always helpful having someone who has a relationship with the subject. Our goal is to create a relaxed environment so it’s much more a conversation than an interview.

The B-Roll is crucial for a great interview. The more we have footage that aligns with the conversation the better the edit will be.

Ideally, we’ll cover some quick shots of each stakeholder moving through the property. Opening with these shots in the edit is very effective. When you hear the subject speaking over these images and then reveal their portrait with name and title, each will have a strong and consistent introduction.

B-ROLL

Landscape vistas + individual rock formations

We will shoot most of the landscapes at sunrise and sunset. The low light provides long shadows and occasional sun flares that add to the beauty of this stunning location. Also, that time of day usually provides the most dramatic skies.

With the use of a drone we can cover a lot of the property quickly and in stunning detail.

We’ll also utilize the drone for some close ups and tight details of the unique rock formations.

Details of elements— sand, rock, sky, flora and fauna

We’ll search for the most interesting and unexpected details that can be discovered. These tight close up details provide the perfect juxtaposition to cut from super wide aerial shots to extreme tight details. This will create a bold contrast in the edit. From macro to micro we’ll look for natural patterns and how the light plays off each element. Simple graphic shots that all have slight motion to them, like a gentle breeze over the sand or the sun flicking through the rocks.

Interviewees interacting with the property

We understand there’s been some discussion of only shooting Marwan Al-Sayed walking through the resort.

We would recommend covering all the Stakeholders in some B-Roll footage interacting on the property.

As mentioned earlier these moments work extremely well for the opening sequences of each interview. This will also be unique footage for each of the subjects. These scenes help build a stronger edit by having more footage of each individual.

TIME-LAPSE

Time-lapse footage of shadow play and night sky star fields

Time lapse dedicated cameras capture a single long exposure. Each shot can take up to 12-14 hours to capture a single scene. The most interesting time-lapse involves moving the camera during the exposure, this adds another dimension to the shot. We would identify the best places to set the cameras for these long exposures. We’ll capture the night sky with rock formations in the foreground and the play of light and shadows over the landscape. We can also explore the passing of time over the architecture with bold shadows created through the canopies and sun shades, or capturing the beauty of the sunset and the transition to the evening lighting on the resort.

We want the viewer to imagine calling Amangiri home.
A unique place that harmoniously blends indoor and outdoor living with experiential luxury. Residences here are unlike anywhere else on the planet. This video will connect home and life with the infinite beyond.
